Claude Anello | Senior Counsel
Claude Anello, a native Houstonian, is a Senior Counsel to the firm and practices in the areas of corporate and commercial transactions, commercial finance and real estate law.
Claude has represented clients with the documentation and implementation of corporate and commercial transactions in most industries, and his clients range from start-up ventures to public corporations, including many in the energy industry and related industries. He represents companies in connection with complex business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, venture capital, joint venture, risk management and corporate control matters. He advises clients on a wide range of state and federal regulatory issues relating to commercial activities and has successfully managed numerous commercial litigation matters.
Claude’s commercial finance expertise was developed by representing lenders and borrowers in numerous transactions, including complex credit facility structuring and negotiations, due diligence analysis, complex and unusual collateral securitization, workouts, distressed asset management and foreclosures.
Claude’s real estate expertise includes representing clients in formulating strategies for the development, acquisition, financing, management, entity structuring and leasing of commercial and industrial properties.
Claude has been named a “Texas Rising Star” by Texas Monthly Magazine/Super Lawyers for five consecutive years. No more than 2.5 percent of Texas lawyers receive this honor each year.
Claude currently serves as Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) No. 13 and Redevelopment Authority No. 13 and has considerable expertise in tax increment financing and related issues.
